What it is for
Download 4Reality, install it on your Windows workstation and start your first project. No activation code is required to use the software: it works as soon as the installation is complete. Paid licences are then activated from inside the software.
Plans: Designer (free, personal and commercial use), Pro (US$10/month), Advanced (US$30/month).
Before you start
Make sure your workstation meets the minimum requirements:
- Windows 11
- Quad-core processor at 2.5 GHz
- 32 GB of RAM
- DirectX 12 compatible graphics card (see the summary list below)
- About 50 GB of free disk space and a good Internet connection: the installer downloads all the installation files, which can take a while.
Compatible graphics cards (summary, based on the Unreal Engine 5.8 documentation)
The base requirement: DirectX 12 and at least 8 GB of video memory. Hardware ray tracing (Lumen) requires a card with dedicated acceleration.
- NVIDIA: GeForce RTX 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 series (hardware ray tracing). Absolute minimum: GTX 1080 (8 GB), without hardware ray tracing.
- AMD: Radeon RX 6000, 7000 and 9000 series (hardware ray tracing). Absolute minimum: RX 5700 (8 GB).
- Intel: dedicated Arc A and B series cards (DirectX 12 Ultimate, hardware ray tracing). Note: Intel integrated graphics (Iris, UHD) do not work; their DirectX 12 support is incomplete and they have no hardware ray tracing.
- Recommended for large scenes: 12 GB of video memory and more, for example RTX 4070 and up, RX 7800 XT and up.
Steps
- Go to the Downloads page.
- Download the installer 4Reality2026R4_setup.exe. If the download does not start, your browser is probably blocking it: mark the file as safe to allow the download.
- Run the installer. It first downloads all the installation files (about 50 GB): allow enough time depending on your connection.
- If Windows shows a blue protection screen asking whether you are sure you want to install, click 'Install anyway'.
- The installer then prepares the installation: select the installation folder and accept the licence.
- Finish the installation and launch 4Reality. The software works right away, with no code to enter.
- On launch, choose: new project or open an existing project. For a new project, the scene selection menu opens: pick your starting scene. Scenes can be changed at any time afterwards, with no impact on your imported models.
- To activate a Pro or Advanced licence, go to the Account tab in the ribbon menu, inside the software, and sign in.
Expected result
4Reality is installed, your project is open on the chosen scene, and your licence is active if you have one. You can import your first model.
Common problems
- The download does not start: the browser is blocking the file. Mark the file as safe in the browser to unblock it.
- The blue Windows screen during installation: this is the Windows protection asking for confirmation. Click 'Install anyway'.
- The download seems endless: there are about 50 GB to download. On a slow connection, let the installer work and avoid closing it midway.
- The software is slow or some display features are refused: check that your graphics card is DirectX 12 compatible and that its driver is up to date (see the list of compatible cards above).
